Feel the pain…

For the last two days I’ve been suffering from a toothache. Gradually the pain got worse and worse. I had pains running up the right and left sides of my head. I found it difficult to sleep. I woke up last night because of the pain. I decided enough was enough and went to the dentist today. He gave me a filling, prescribed me some antibiotics, paid the bill and I was on my way. Pain gone

Unfortunatly it doesn’t work like that in the third world. People in the third world have little or no money. It’s a daily struggle. They can barely pay for food not alone for drugs and medicine. When a person is in pain in the third world, more often than not they have to live through the pain day in day out. Imagine being in that situation?

The essence of the story is be grateful for what you have. Others are not so lucky…

In the third world, babies suffering from AIDS and or Malaria is a far too common sight.

Double Day…Money to go to charity…

Oops, sorry for not posting in 2 days… I’ve been up the walls.

Two weeks before Live 8 I placed an order for 10 “Make Poverty History” bands. I gave some to friends to spread the word and kept others. Im currently wearing ONE. Its been on my left wrist for all but three days since the Live 8 concert. The Make Poverty History campaign is something I feel needs to be continued and so all the money Im giving away will be to charities with the aim of making poverty history.
So spread the word and lets help others…

When I first started using wordpress I could embed Youtube videos into my posts really easily but now the code Youtube supplies you is different from the example given on wordpress… Can anyone help?

Here is an example embedding code from youtube:

I used to be able to embed youtube videos into wordpress. Now it doesnt seem to work. So for now Im going to be using Google videos. Here is one reason not to give out your number on either…

Big guy, small guy…

Good morning/afternoon/night everyone.

Traffic to the blog is already picking up. I’ve even got some RSS subscribers.

Yesterday I sent an email to Robert Scoble. He runs the scobleizer blog, pretty much the biggest on wordpress. Guess what? I got a reply Nothing major you might say, but its nice that the big guys take a moment to talk to the small guys. For viewers new to blogs here is Robert himself explaining what they are in 20 seconds!

About nine months ago I came across Seth Godin on the web. I saw this video, read his blog and decided to buy two of his books. “Purple Cow” and “All Marketers are Liars”….I have to recommend them. Enjoy the video.

David Pogue is on his holidays…I always read his blog on the New York Times website. What I really like is his vlog. Always informative and interesting. Another favourite is Techcrunch, a daily insight to web 2.0 companies.

I’ve been a fan of rocketboom for well over a year now. It’s basically a video version of boingboing a mecca for the weird and wonderful.

Other than those, I basically view individual pieces people send to me…..
